Ukrainian soldier rescues damaged MaxxPro armored vehicle in risky operation under enemy fire (X @DefenceU)
A special forces soldier from Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence Directorate (DIU) carried out an impressive rescue operation by single-handedly retrieving a damaged MaxxPro armored vehicle from a combat zone in Kupiansk.
The vehicle, hit during a mission by the Timur unit, lost a wheel but successfully protected its crew, who managed to escape on foot.
Despite the damage, the soldier determined that the engine was still working and took control of the vehicle, driving it at high speed through hostile terrain. Even with one wheel missing and under the threat of further attacks, he demonstrated great skill in maintaining control, performing precise maneuvers and avoiding additional damage.
The action was captured on video and released by the DIU, adding to other recent footage of extreme MaxxPro driving under enemy fire.
The M1224 MaxxPro is an American MRAP-type armored vehicle designed to withstand landmine and improvised explosive device blasts. Its armor includes two layers of protection and bulletproof glass weighing around 120 kg, capable of withstanding impacts from up to 7 kg of explosives. Weighing 14 tons, the vehicle is known for its robustness and ability to protect its crew in extreme situations.
